The architect’s eye

Structure is the second subject.

Trained as an architect — B.A., TU München — and it shows in how he frames structure, ruins and landscape. Lattice, rib, façade, cliff: seen from the water, and from the air.

Across Spain on foot, by kayak and on horseback — the Almería desert, the plains of Castilla, the wet green north coast. Sleeping outside, the whole way.

Around Mallorca and Menorca by small boat, with Fluffo as crew. A short documentary, daily films, and a body of photography.

I’ve had folding boats since I was twelve. Last summer I paddled a 1950s folding kayak 2,580 km down the Danube, from Ulm to the Black Sea, with my dog Fluffo as crew. I trained as an architect, I work as a model, and I’ve spent years in product photography. The camera is how I bring the journey home.

Five languages, and a lifetime racing and paddling the coasts of southern Spain, Corsica and the Mediterranean.
